Positive Steps Kemnay (PSK) is an independent community group. We have attained charity status, as below. We have strong links with Paths for All and are a member of the Scottish Health Walks Network.
We are a Dementia Friendly accredited project, meaning that our walks are accessible to people living with dementia. We are also Macmillan Friendly, so are able to welcome those affected by cancer to join us on our walks. Some of our Walk Leaders have had Disability Inclusion training and we are taking part in the Grampian Disability Sports Get Out Get Active (GOGA) project.
The most unique aspect of Positive Steps Kemnay is our ‘ladder’ system; whereby it is easy for walkers to move between our various walking groups depending on health and abilities. For example, someone who has been ill may start off in the Strength and Balance group, then when feeling stronger, may join the Gentle Walking Group. any number if combinations are possible and encouraged.
Positive Steps Kemnay has been entered into the Scottish Charities Register and has been granted Charitable status under the Charities and Trustee Investment (Scotland) Act 2005.
