Kemnay Kestrels is an independent walking group, aligned to the Grampian Over 50’s Network, but has close links to Positive Steps Kemnay in providing a range of walks for people who are able walk further. Many members of the Kestrels came from Positive Steps Kemnay Health Walks, thus demonstrating the ‘ladder’ system of the whole group in being able to offer walks for all abilities.
Important Information dated 10th March 2021
Following the Scottish Government announcement on 9th March, Grampian Over 50’s Network have confirmed that as from 12th March, we will be able to walk again in a group of up to 15 adults, including walkers and leaders, all subject to observance of social distance guidelines. .
Kemnay Kestrels will be working to this ruling and are aiming to start with a first local walk on 17th March, which will be announced in due course.
Please look out for further announcements via emails being sent to walkers.
Some positive news at last!
Information prior to Christmas 2020 lockdown
The Kestrels have also been curtailed due Covid regulations but are walking again now in organised groups generally every Wednesday, with start points depending on the walk. Currently, we are using own transport due to Covid restrictions but would hope at some point to get back to minibus transport.
